Our client is located in Gloucestershire and is looking to appoint a new Quality Manager, due to their previous incumbent being promoted internally. The site manufactures components to major OEMs such as FORD, Nissan, BMW and Peugeot.
The Quality Manager will ensure customer satisfaction is achieved and maintained, at optimum costs, in order to enhance both company performance and business development. The Quality Manager will be responsible for applying Environmental, Health and Safety policies and procedures, which ensure full compliance, whilst managing the Quality Team and developing the individuals to achieve individual and company goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Member of Senior Management team responsible for Quality, Environmental and Health and Safety strategy.
- Maintenance of an Integrated Management System which meets the needs of QA, Environmental and Health and Safety management certification standards, Legislation and customer requirements (TS16949, ISO14001 and OHAS18001.).
- Ensure compliance to statutory, regulatory, customer and corporate procedures and systems.
- Report on Quality & EH&S performance.
- Organisation of department tasks to meet business needs.
- Leadership of external and internal audit processes and corrective actions to ensure IMS meets requirements of all accreditation bodies on an ongoing basis.
- Champions the training on, use and development of approved and appropriate problem resolution techniques within the business.
- Problem identification and resolution leadership.
- Major interface to the customer base on quality, environmental and health and safety issues.
- Responsible for Metrology & laboratory functions.
- Liaison with other sites and corporate functions.
- Ensures company policies and procedures are cascaded down to suppliers and sub-contractors.
- Management of department to agreed annual budgets.
- Preparation and justification of annual budgets.
- Continually identify and implement improvements to the quality and manufacturing systems.
- Review, appraisal and development of team members through regular performance review and discussion.
- Any other reasonable tasks required by the company.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
The ideal candidate will be Degree educated within an Engineering related subject, coupled with a professional certificate in Quality, such as IQA. You will be a strong Manager with previous experience in the Automotive industry that can lead and develop teams effectively. You will be fully conversant with all Automotive knowledge in APQP, PPAP SPC, 8D problem solving & EHS Risk Assessment. Candidates must come from environments where they have experience of demanding customers and continuous improvement through, Six-Sigma, Lean Manufacturing etc. Applicants should apply if they are looking for progression within a globally recognised organisation.
