A Leading Machine Manufacturer are currently looking for an Electrical Engineer to provide specialist mechanical engineering expertise that is required for designing and building packaging machinery that meets customer requirements.
The Role
The following duties and responsibilities would be required to be performed by the successful Electrical Engineer:
- Responsible for designing electrical systems and specifying specialised sub-assemblies so that machines have a fully integrated system
- Responsible for writing electrical design specifications
- Supervise the electrical function on machine builds whether in house or carried out by contractors
- Responsible for ensuring that machine electrical systems comply with the relevant local safety and build standards that exist in different countries
- Responsible for the production of electrical documentation including parts list, circuit drawings, manufacturing systems
The Person
We are looking to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience:
- A degree in Electrical Engineering with chartered status (or working towards this, if required)
- Preferably a minimum of 2-3 years' working for a quality machine manufacturer within the packaging sector, or a machine manufacturer making PLC controlled special purpose machines for the food, drinks, pharma and tobacco industries would be very appropriate.
- Proven experience of providing innovative engineering solutions.
- Able to write up design and test specifications.
- Experience of building machines an advantage.
- Experience of machine installations, commissioning and troubleshooting is useful.
- Used to providing bills of materials and the documentation required for production.
- Some experience of managing others.
- Used to dealing with customers on a face-to-face basis.
- Good IT skills.
- Good knowledge of health and safety matters is expected.
