A Leading Machine Manufacturer in the Warwickshire area are currently looking for 2 Contract Design Engineers for a period of 1-6 months minimum.
The Role
- Work Closely with Engineers to understand machine concepts in order to produce solid designs using 2D/3D AutoCAD packages
- Layout design work for machines
- Design and develop test rigs that help reduce cycle time whilst still maintaining the quality required
- Carry out detailed design work if time is available, if not, manage the work of detailers ensuring that the standards required are maintained
- Make up parts list and specify what is required
- Check that bough parts meet the specifications required
- Carry out investigations for materials suitability for various projects and develop new material specifications, as appropriate
- Assist when required in the building of machines
- Carry out other duties that may be required
The Person
- 2-3 Years Experience working for a quality machine manufacturer in a design role within the packaging sector or closely related sector i.e. High Tech, Textile, Machine Tools, Automation, PLC Controlled Machines
- Knowledge of Electrical Engineering as well as Mechanical
- 2D/3D AutoCAD packages
- Experience of the design and development of PLC controlled special purpose machines.
