Sourcing Specialist

A Leading Manufacturer currently have an opportunity for a Sourcing Specialist. The position works within a Sourcing Team to assist the management of European based suppliers and to support the company on Purchasing related issues.
The Role
Key responsibilities of the Sourcing Specialist would include:
- Work with Sourcing Manager/ Sourcing Team in identifying and implement continuous improvement opportunities.
- Identify cost reduction opportunities and facilitate implementation.
Track cost reduction performance for Sourcing Team.
- Develop TCO model for assigned commodities as appropriate.
- Investigate and resolve invoice queries.
- Issue RFQ packages as needed.
- Support plant PCR process.
- Prepare analyses for and assist with supplier negotiations.
- Process engineering releases.
- Track supplier performance measures and assist Sourcing manager/Sourcing team with supplier capacity planning.
- Assist Sourcing Team with collation of European supplier data for input to Sourcing Strategies.
- Follow up with suppliers and close queries relating to RFQs, Engineering releases, price variation.
The Person
We are looking to hear from candidates with the following skills and experience:
- Degree in associated discipline eg. Business Studies, Purchasing
Ideally with CIPS Accreditation.
- Demonstrated analytical skills - proficient at gathering/
analysing data and developing recommendations.
- Demonstrated understanding of TCO
- Demonstrated understanding of computer based systems
- Proven strong oral/ written communication skills
- Proven strong negotiation skills
- Product / Process knowledge
- Demonstrated understanding of continuous improvement concepts including 6 Sigma tools and their application with in a purchasing environment.
