One of the Worlds Leading Automotive Suppliers is currently looking for a Supply Chain Manager to to ensure all components are available and stored/distributed in line with customer requirements. In addition, to ensure all parts and services are procured using the company procedures, whilst at the same time working to the latest legal requirements and continually looking for the best value for money option. Whilst carrying out this role they should always be looking for ways to help develop the processes, and people within the department.
The Role
- To be responsible for all supply chain personnel, including recruitment, training requirements and discipline.
- To ensure all logistics processes are maintained and developed using the Company continuous improvement, actively encouraging team participation.
- Preparation of departmental strategies, budgets and resource plans, including departmental and individual targets and ensuring no overspend occurs.
- Monitoring departmental KPI's and individual's performance.
- To continually monitor and identify opportunities for cost reduction both individually and through Company continuous improvement initiative.
- To ensure schedules are met in accordance with the Company requirements and effective expediting is carried out to meet such requirements.
- To investigate stock discrepancies and take corrective action as appropriate ensuring stock accuracy targets are maintained within the financial forecasts.
- To provide data to the Management Team - Manufacturing of all stock transactions as required.
- To control stock values in accordance with Company requirements.
- To ensure that the Suppliers are selected, appraised and work in line with the requirements of the business.
- To be responsible for the Health and Safety all employees and visitors and monitor and maintain housekeeping of all areas under your responsibility.
- To monitor the performance of all aspects of the supply chain areas and providing the Managing Director - Manufacturing with performance reports and information as requested.
- To carry out any other duties deemed appropriate by the Managing Director - Manufacturing.
The Person
Qualifications:
- HNC/HND Mechanical/Production/Production Engineering
- CIPS Qualified
Experience:
- Proven experience of supply chain management in a low volume high added value automotive production plant.
- Proven experience of working within a purchasing environment.
- SAP MRP II experience preferred.
Skills:
- Supervisory Skills
- To be able to demonstrate good communication and influencing skills
- To demonstrate good negotiation skills
- General understanding of Market trends i.e. Gas, Electric metals etc
- Microsoft Office literate
- SAP MRPII knowledge essential
