Retained Service Solutions

In certain circumstances, our clients require more than the contingency approach to recruitment and may require a closer working relationship that allows access to a more in-depth level of support. This will generally happen when the role is of a technical nature, within a niche sector or at a Senior Level, where confidentiality needs to be maintained and possibly where there is a skills shortage within the market place.
A Retained Service Solution, provides a more in-depth process that would involve the payment of a retainer based on the anticipated placement fee. The payment schedule would be agreed at the start of the process and would generally involve a 3 stage payment, 1/3 Upfront to retain M-Tec, 1/3 on delivery of a suitable shortlist of candidates and the final 1/3 when the successful candidate commences employment. By accepting the retainer, the risk factor is effectively shared between M-Tec and it's client during the recruitment process, thereby enabling a more detailed and strategic approach to successfully finding suitable candidates whilst developing a closer working relationships with the client.
The idea of this service is not only to recruit the best possible candidates for a particular role but to also manage all stages of the recruitment process with an in-depth face-to-face interview at the initial stage to improve the selection of suitable candidates. By controlling and benchmarking the process at the start, M-Tec will be able to minimised the clients risk whilst maximising the efficiency adding significant value throughout the process through our extensive recruitment experience and market knowledge.
It is essential at the beginning of the Retained Service that a clear understanding of the role and organisation is required, to ensure that our consultants fully understand the culture, ethos and reasons behind the opportunity. This will enable the selection process to be tailored to meet the specific skills & technical requirements needed for the position whilst allowing the appointed consultant to accurately screen the candidates for the client.

Standard Procedures & Processes

It is essential that there is a consistent approach to all retained business to enable M-Tec to provide an effective service to their clients. Although the methods may alter slightly depending upon the needs of our clients, in order to maintain the consistency required, there is a set of standard procedures that are to be followed once a suitable list of candidates has be selected.

Screening & Interviewing

All candidates identified from both the database search, networking & advertisement are collated and screened by the appointed Account Manager for the Client. (Any unsuitable ones will be rejected at this stage by verbal or written communication if they responded via an advertisement).

Once a suitable list has been identified all candidates will be approached to ascertain there suitability and availability to be progressed for the position.

All candidates that meet the required skills and competencies needed for the position will then be invited into the M-Tec offices for a face-to-face interview. If this is not convenient the Account Manager will arrange to meet the candidate elsewhere as a face-to face meeting is essential at this stage to further match them against the criteria's of the job.

Once all selected candidates have been interviewed a shortlist will be formulated of those that are a most accurate match against the requirements of the position.

Presentation Of Shortlist

The shortlist will then be presented to the client in the form of a brief synopsis of each candidate summarising strengths, weaknesses, skills and evaluation with regards to a match against the skill requirements of the role, accompanied with the synopsis will be the individuals resume.

Once the candidates have been presented a decision will be made by the client as to which individuals they would like to interview. M-Tec would then arrange all interviews, liasing with the candidates to ensure they are fully prepared for the meeting with all necessary information that is required.

Any candidates that are rejected at this stage would be informed as to ensure that the correct image and representation of both M-Tec and the client is maintained.

The interviews would generally take place onsite with the client but should this prove inconvenient M-Tec's office would be available at not extra cost. This would provide a neutral environment that allows the interviews to take place without any disruption helping to maximise time.

If necessary, we will be able to provide psychometric assessment of all candidates to further ensure a successful match to the position. This would incur an additional cost which would be quoted on a separate basis, depending upon the type of assessment required and report requested from the gathered information.

Offer, Acceptance & Start

After all interviews have taken place and the most suitable candidate has been identified, M-Tec would then facilitate all subsequent meetings, information and negotiations acting as an independent party to ensure a successful outcome during the offer stage.

Once all negotiations have taken place and the offer has been accepted, M-Tec will maintain a regular contact with the candidate during his/her notice period to ensure a successful start date.

Should any issues or questions arise during the notice period such as counter offers, we will contact the client immediately to ensure that any problem is resolved with a satisfactory conclusion.

Once the candidate has started, M-Tec would continue communication links with the candidate and client at least once a month for the first three months to ensure a successful integration into the organisation.

Quality Assessment

Once the opportunity has been filled M-Tec would then submit a Quality Assessment Form for the client contacts so that we can receive feedback on our handling of the recruitment process so that we can continually look to improve our service to 'exceed to expectations of our clients'.
